Find Hindi books to read online
Hindi titles and author names may be indexed in Devanagari, Roman spelling, or both. Trying the original script can make a large difference, especially in text collections that use Hindi titles.
Search in the language of the catalog
किताब या लेखक का नाम देवनागरी में भी खोजें। उदाहरण के लिए “प्रेमचंद” और “गोदान” जैसे शब्द आज़माएँ। हर नतीजा पूरी किताब नहीं होता; कुछ नतीजे अध्याय, कहानी या संबंधित पाठ हो सकते हैं।
Try प्रेमचंद and गोदान, then compare with a Roman spelling if needed. Search results are live and availability is not guaranteed.
Hindi Wikisource for online reading
Hindi Wikisource is included in BookScout’s connected sources. Its search may match the body of a text as well as a title. Open the result, check the author and work name, and use the source’s navigation to see whether more chapters belong to the work.
BookScout labels these as reading links. It does not promise that each page has an EPUB or PDF export, or that every work is complete.
School textbooks are a separate collection
For school books, browse the official NCERT textbook portal and select the class, subject and book offered there. NCERT is an external browse link in BookScout, not an automatically searched catalog. Check the edition and the source’s current usage terms.
Troubleshoot an empty search
- Use a shorter, distinctive title rather than a long sentence.
- Try the author in Devanagari and in Roman spelling.
- Keep All formats selected; a reading page may exist without a PDF link.
- Look at the source-status badges. Unavailable means the source failed, not that it has no matching book.
Check the actual edition
Check language, completeness, translation and publication details on the source page. A Hindi search may also return English discussions of a book or a translation. Do not infer a file’s language or permission to redistribute it from the search keyword alone.
